Interview with the fine artist Miguel Angel Avila
conducted by Rocio Heredia. Miguel Angel said: “The paintings radiate color.
That is what I consider the best representation of energy and life. Color that
you may find within my body of work in landscapes, visions, inhabitants and
real, recognizable objects implanted into somewhat unusual contexts... My art is
done with a figurative style, making use of draftsmanship skills, to create
textures and details that increase along the development of the piece. Extending
to the point where there cannot be a single brushstroke out of place. My art
asks the viewer to come closer, look further, and peer with diligence…for when
the viewer is challenged…the paintings begin to reveal their “story”; and in the
process…discloses the vulnerability of the subject matter; by means of light,
color, shadow, voids, solids, and intricate layering of paint”
